La Quinta Inn by Wyndham San Antonio Vance Jackson

Breakfast was great, and I got my $40 deposit back. The room was clean, with crisp sheets and plenty of clean pillows. We had lots of parking and didn’t see any bugs or mold. The highway noise was noticeable, and the door lock felt a little loose. The U-lock was missing. We had a good stay and would come back.

I used to like staying in these rooms and never had trouble getting my deposit back before. This time they charged $110 for the room and kept the deposit, saying there was a slight smell of weed. The front desk guy went into the room right after I left and didn’t say anything. I don’t smoke at all because of my health. This is ridiculous, and they’ve lost my business.

There are bed bugs here. Do not stay! I checked in late for one night, then had to rush out in less than an hour in the middle of the night with my little ones. I was too busy getting us out to take better pictures.

The AC worked fine, and the mirror was nice. The location was convenient for the San Antonio sights we wanted to see, all within about 15 minutes. Still, we only needed somewhere to sleep on a short trip, and the room had a lot of problems. Our socks got dirty within minutes of walking around barefoot, so it didn’t seem like the floor had been swept or mopped between stays. The coffee maker was dirty. There was hair on the tub walls and floor before we used it, and its drain was clogged, leaving us standing in dirty water. The sink was a little clogged too. At the end of our stay, we lifted the blankets and found blood near where our feet had been. It definitely wasn’t ours. The area also felt rough, with lots of homeless people and a crowd that made me uneasy. If I’d been traveling without my boyfriend, I would have chosen a different, safer hotel. We got through the trip and had a place to sleep, but the room was dirty.
