Staybridge Suites San Antonio by IHG

The people here have made a painful stretch of life feel a little steadier. Our home caught fire, and from the first day the staff treated us like family. My kids are happy, which means so much while I'm dealing with all this. The breakfast team makes mornings better, housekeeping is caring, and the front desk is always welcoming. Managers are around and attentive too, and everyone has gone out of their way to help us feel safe and comfortable. Today I left my purse behind while hurrying to an important work meeting. My son's hospital information was inside, so I panicked and called. They went outside right away to look for it, then called within minutes to say they'd found it. That kind of care and urgency is rare. This place has given us warmth, comfort, and peace of mind when we needed it most. It really feels like home, and we'll remember their kindness.

The only real plus was being about nine minutes from the zoo. Otherwise, this was one of the worst Staybridge Suites stays I've had as a Diamond Elite member. The AC stayed around 72 or 73, and when I asked for maintenance, I was told the worker had already left. The rooms feel dated, all the washing machines were out of order, and on several occasions the elevators smelled strongly of weed. Parking costs extra even though there don't seem to be enough spaces for the rooms. There were no paper towels or dish soap, and all three plates had dried food on them when we arrived.

The rooms were nice, but I wouldn't book here again because the service made me uncomfortable. I was visiting my brother in the military and making waffles at breakfast when an attendant stared at me. I said hello, and she gave me a dirty look and asked where my clothes were, even though I had on socks, shoes, a jacket, a shirt, and shorts. I said, 'Excuse me, I can zip it up,' and she just said, 'Mhm,' then walked off. The front desk service was hit or miss too. They need to work on how they treat guests.

I felt fine leaving my motorcycle here, and the rooms were clean and a good size. The staff were lovely to everyone. I'd recommend this hotel.
