Staybridge Suites San Antonio Sea World by IHG

A water heater leak forced us out of our home, and what became an extended hotel stay has been a wonderful experience. My parents and I are greeted every time we come and go. It’s lovely to see how well the staff get along and enjoy their work, from the front desk to maintenance. Christy, Brian, Taija, Jaymes, Tonya, and the two people I’ve accidentally left out have all been such a blessing to talk with during this difficult time. Liz and Caliyah are friendly, fast, and efficient, with such good attention to detail that we never have to ask for anything after they clean. I’ve also had lovely conversations with the sweet woman who I believe oversees housekeeping. The kitchen team is amazing too. Cyndi (I believe) once stopped me with my things on a cart and asked if we were already leaving. In my head I thought, “already,” since we’d been there over a month 😂, but it was so sweet and warmed my heart. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays they offer dinner and adult drinks. Amanda or Blanca always has a to-go box ready when they see me, so I can bring breakfast or dinner up to my parents. That’s a real bonus for anyone caring for family. Maintenance and HSM staff Charlie, Brian, and Buddy have helped us too. Everyone has been kind, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond. Staybridge Suites, Sea World by IGH is a wonderful place to stay in San Antonio, whether visiting or displaced from home. I plan to have my son stay there when he visits this summer. I’ll be glad when our house is fixed, but we’ll miss them. They’ve treated us like family, and I can see why they’ve received their awards. They’re simply the best. 🙏🏽

I stayed here two years ago and still remember it fondly. I love Staybridge and the breakfast, which had more variety than you usually get at similar hotels. The room felt a little dated, but the beds were super comfortable. There was lots of storage and a nice desk area too.

The location was great, but room 212 needs new carpet. It’s so dirty that walking barefoot will literally turn your feet black. The curtains smell and need washing too. Breakfast was a long wait: about 15 minutes for scrambled eggs, another five for six pieces of sausage, ten for cereal, then more waiting for regular coffee because there wasn’t enough for everyone. We skipped breakfast the next day to avoid the same hassle.

We really liked the location, and Brian at the desk was friendly and knew the amenities well. It’s close to Sea World, with a shuttle available if you want to go to the park. The place could use renovations, though. Our shower was broken, but maintenance came and fixed it. On weekends breakfast runs from 7:30 to 10:30. We got to the dining room around 10:15, and while my husband was getting food, the kitchen woman said she was closing. It was 10:20 and we were still making our plates, but she rudely started putting food away and grabbing it as if it were hers. She rushed us before closing time, yet let workers come in and take food for themselves. One worker even picked up sausage with his hands. That part was fine, but rushing us out rudely before 10:30 wasn’t. It was part of our stay.
