The people were okay, but the rooms were absolutely disgusting. We got dirty, hairy towels with holes, and my stepson and I were bitten up by bed bugs. We switched rooms because the first one had bed bugs, and the next room did too. It was a waste of money, and there are hotels closer to SeaWorld than this one. These reviews are fake. Please be careful and don’t book here unless filth is your kind of style.
Avoid this place. The owner/manager was nice at first, but after a few days things changed. We were staying there while waiting for our apartment to be finished, and they kept charging late fees whose amount seemed to change depending on their mood. I’d paid the fees before, usually around 2pm with the mother’s approval even though checkout was 11am. They also added a $5 credit card transaction fee each time. The next day, when I went to pay, the daughter wanted me to sign a paper saying that if rent wasn’t paid by 11AM every day after that, we’d have to move. When I questioned why she was being rude, she threw my credit card back and said we had 30 minutes to leave. We took 5 hours, and they said nothing. She also said our payment wasn’t worth it, though I’d been asking why the late fees mattered if I paid them. Sometimes we were the only guests in a 32-room hotel. They say they match BOOKING.COM prices, but they don’t. They come up with excuses and keep changing the room price. You can find other places just as close with better service. The owner/manager lives on the property. Privacy isn’t an option: they watch cameras 24/7 because visitors aren’t allowed, and they insist on daily housekeeping, which felt nosey. If the housekeeping door was closed, asking for towels, toilet paper, sheets, or anything else they’d normally provide could get you bitten off. Our microwave started throwing sparks, and when I brought it to the manager he said I’d broken it because it wasn’t clean. They wanted to inspect the room right away. A dirty microwave doesn’t make sparks shoot out its side. My partner was sick that day, and after the accusation I lost my temper. He got out of bed and went to the office, even though he was sick, to explain the microwave. They asked why he’d been sleeping all day. He told them he was sick and had a medical/disabling condition, which he’d willingly disclosed. I paid for the room, so what business was it of theirs if I slept all day? They fetched their daughter, who works in the "medical field" and claimed she knew about his condition/disability and that wasn’t the problem. Still, they insisted on inspecting. The manager brought the microwave to our room with the daughter in tow. The room was clean, but she then shouted to my partner outside the door about his medical condition/disability, with other guests within earshot. She disclosed his information to them. Apparently she doesn’t know too much, since what she did is VERY illegal. I’m not republican, but everyone should be treated with respect. After my partner disclosed his condition, they were rude and discriminatory.
It was fairly quiet except for a worker whose manner came across as rude and mean. The room was mostly clean and decent, but there were quite a few small roaches that seemed to come from the bathroom vent. For this nightly price, you’d expect at least free coffee or some kind of continental breakfast. La Quinta is right around the corner and Country Inn is across the street. Most nights, both are much cheaper, cleaner, and include free WIFI, coffee, and continental breakfast every day. You’ll get your money’s worth at one of those two.
It’s a family-owned hotel, and they make you feel like family. I’ve never had an issue or seen bugs in the room, and the family is very nice. Whenever I’m in town, I head straight here. It’s close to the base and my family’s house, with great reasonable prices.
I’m comfortable staying here and have no major complaints. The owners are cool with me, and the rooms are basic. Prices feel a little high, so don’t expect much for what you pay. I like having a mini fridge and microwave, and there’s a choice of 1 king or 2 queen beds. Bathrooms are dated; some have nice shower heads, but the toilets need more flushing power. Linens are clean, though getting fresh towels can be a hassle. Outside noise can carry into the rooms, from recent construction, power washing, or the connecting door between rooms.
