Gateway Inn & Suites San Francisco SFO Airport

After I was laid off, inflation in 2026 meant I had to cancel my two-night reservation. I had bought a non-refundable ticket, but Fan kindly said he would process a full refund if Expedia, where I've been a long-time subscriber, could make an exception. It reminds me there's still humanity around in times like these. Thank you, Gateway Inn. My wife and I love the Bay Area, and I hope we'll stay with you again when I find better employment. This was a life-saving, life-changing stay for me. I stayed two nights and was given grace when I checked out a bit late. The whole on-site team showed incredible patience and hospitality. The place is semi-family-owned and operated, with great safety and security features, and it was very clean and organized. There's a great Tongan Church right next door, and I even caught a free choral concert in the back parking area. The smoking policy is strictly enforced, though there's plenty of room around the hotel to smoke if you need to. The reviews calling it underrated are right. I've stayed at the SFO Grand Hyatt, and I'd choose Gateway Inn and Suites over it any day, regardless of what resources I have. I honestly would live here if that were practical. They're not here for your own or anyone else's BS, lol, and that suited me perfectly. Worth the whole security deposit and then some.

I've stayed here many times and will come back. It's always clean, the staff have been friendly, and the location is convenient.

Everything went smoothly, from check-in through check-out. The place was clean, comfortable, and convenient. There's a Starbucks and a few restaurants down the street for breakfast or dinner, and the BART station was within walking distance, so I took the train to San Francisco.
