Atwell Suites Corpus Christi Southeast by IHG

We stayed three nights in a room with two queen beds, a kitchenette, a high bar table, a sectional, a closet, and a full bathroom. It looked new and freshly painted, and it seems the hotel had only recently opened. The place was clean overall, with snack bars and other amenities, though the snacks cost extra. Staff were generally okay; I know working over the holidays can be rough, but a bit more customer service would've been appreciated. The main problem was the pipes. Whenever I went to shower, black bits and dirt came out of the tub faucet, so I let it run for a minute first, just in case. The hot water also ran out pretty quickly, even though I take a normal shower with the handle set in the middle, not a boiling one. I didn't report it because I was rushing off to family holiday activities every day and didn't have time. I also figured a new hotel might have limited options for fixing it. Maybe the debris will clear with more guests using the pipes. One last thing, the access door near the back doesn't close properly, so make sure it's shut behind you for safety.

For our short vacation, this new hotel was clean and a good choice, and we liked the free breakfast. I gave it four stars for two reasons. Brown water dripped from the tub tap for a few seconds when we first turned it on, before clean water came through, so watch for that. At checkout, the staff member handed me the receipt without greeting me, asking about our stay, or saying thank you. I thanked her as I walked away and got no reply. Better service would've been appreciated, especially at a brand new hotel with no reviews yet. I understand holiday shifts aren't easy, but a better attitude would've helped.

The manager welcomed me as soon as I came in, and the complimentary breakfast was better than what I've had at most hotels. A great experience overall.

Management went above and beyond, and I really appreciate you and your team. Juan Garcia is the best salesman ever. This is a great hotel.
