Hotel 1550 - SFO Airport

The park and fly setup was a real convenience: you can leave your car at the hotel for a fee and use the airport shuttle. I found the shuttle reliable and easy to use, and the location near SFO made my one night business trip simple. My room was quiet, clean, and comfortable enough for a good night's rest before work. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and professional. I'd happily stay again.

I booked no room in advance, but the staff sorted out the day-use arrangements over the phone and check-in was quick. They were really kind and helpful. The place felt safe, and the shuttle is a nice plus. My room and the shared areas were exceptionally clean, though the furnishings and amenities are a bit dated. Wi-Fi was okay, enough for getting some work done. I checked quite a few day-use hotels before settling on this one, and it worked well for a few hours of rest and work.

Free parking and friendly, helpful people at the front desk were the bright spots. The strong insecticide smell was everywhere, in the hall and our room, and made it hard for me to sleep. The room was small, and fixtures like the lighting looked crooked and poorly fitted. We were told our business room booking would be upgraded, but that didn't happen. Breakfast was disappointing too, with a cramped, crowded dining area and few choices. I'd rate the stay 3 out of 5.

The Hapa Bistro, just a block away, was a real find for dinner. The hotel itself was quiet, comfortable, convenient, fairly priced for the area, and had friendly staff. One thing to know: if you miss the airport shuttle and don't want to wait an hour, an Uber for the short ride costs $40. After booking, I also got a flood of reminders by email and text, plus Expedia messages when booked that way. Way too many. Still, I'd probably come back.
