Days Inn by Wyndham Fort Myers Springs Resort

After a week at Disney, all we wanted was a spacious room and a hot shower, and that's what we got. The mattresses could be better, but the staff were wonderful, and the sulphur smell from the mineral springs is part of the experience. The hotel is renovating after hurricane Ian, so patience and understanding help. We were wary because of the reviews, but you can't believe everything you read. The accommodations impressed us enough that we're writing this on the first of our 4 nights. It's a great little “resort stay” without the stress.

The staff were nice and helpful, and the location is fine. The building and rooms, though, are in poor shape and stink. The tiny parking lot makes parking a mess. There was no breakfast, no smart TV or streaming, and half the wall outlets didn't work. The bedding also had obvious stains. The building should be bulldozed.

The sleeping area was perfectly adequate: clean floors, fresh sheets, and amenities that worked and were easy to use. The rooms are affordable and clean enough to be quite usable, but the building is old and needs repairs. Shower and room tiles are coming apart, damaging the grout and allowing shower water to flood. The moisture builds up and leaves a moldy, damp smell, with more flooding and damage. Housekeeping is trying, but some things need replacing. Overall, not bad, though it needs fixes to be more usable.

The TV was awful, with no local channels, and the restroom had broken tile and nasty stuff in the corners. My room never cooled down, and the front desk person was rude, acting like checking me in was a chore. I stopped by at 130 for early check-in and was told this location doesn't do early check-in, which I've never heard of. I'm a diamond member, but nobody acknowledged me as a valued member. I was passing through on my way to my usual hotel, Wyndham, and tried this place for a night. Think twice before staying here. Worst Wyndham hotel experience I've had.
