The location makes it easy to walk to the pier, ocean, and main attractions, and Frida knows the town well, so her tips for restaurants, galleries, and other visitor spots were great. I first booked this little BnB for a business trip and wondered if the glowing reviews were overstated. They weren't. It really is a gem in charming San Clemente. It feels like home, with the extra care of a mom and breakfasts cooked by Frida. She's energetic, interesting, and a wonderful cook. Her “Spanish Village by the sea” breakfast felt like culinary art and very San Clementian. The welcoming house is full of books, pottery, art, and little collectibles, and Frida decorates it differently for each major holiday. She clearly loves running the place, and guests benefit from that. It's friendly to dogs and kids, too. I'd recommend it if you like character and a homey atmosphere more than a uniform chain hotel. I'll definitely stay again.

Freda's love for the inn and the city shows in all the little details, and her knowledge of the area was unmatched. She was such a warm host that staying with her felt like being with family. The room, breakfast, and location were all perfect, and the experience beat staying at a hotel by a mile. Thanks again, Freda. We'll be back!

Freda made us feel so welcome and looked after, and she was attentive and accommodating the whole time. My husband and I were there for our second wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have hoped for a better stay. The inn is spotless, cozy, and clearly cared for. Its central location meant we could walk everywhere. And the breakfasts were incredible. I'm a big breakfast person, so I was in heaven. Freda even got my husband, who almost never eats in the morning, to have breakfast one day. That's how good it was. I'd happily recommend the Always Inn San Clemente to anyone visiting San Clemente.

We stayed three nights at the Always Inn in San Clemente, checking in 12-30-25 and leaving 1-2-26. While Freda was cooking, she coughed without covering her mouth. She also told me to spray my dog with a bottle instead of giving her a treat. After checkout, she harassed my girlfriend by text and demanded that she give her my full name and contact information.

I come back every time I'm in town. It's so well placed for walking to all the best spots, and the breakfast every morning is spectacular, a whole experience on its own. Looking forward to my next visit!
