This was a poor value, and I would never stay here again or recommend it. The property wasn’t as nice as it looked in the photos. At first management was pleasant, but when I raised problems they denied they could do anything, and one person actually hung up on me. The rooms are dingy, with dirty walls and bedroom carpets, and even basic cleaning like the sliding doors and mirrors seemed overlooked. Dirty laundry and a big bag of trash sat in the hallway for more than 24 hours. The refrigerator leaked, a dresser drawer wouldn’t stay shut, and the balcony sliding door lock was broken.

Our king suite was a little small, but it was fine, and the hotel was very clean. The water was the one issue: there was no hot water at the sink, while the tub water was scalding. I don’t know if other rooms have the same problem. I hope they can fix it, because I’d like to stay again.

The friendly, accommodating staff and easy check-in make this a great place. Comfort Suites in San Clemente is where I always stay when I’m away from home. 10 out of 10, I recommend it!

The highway noise in the rooms was really loud. Check-in took 50 minutes because the clerk kept having to call someone to translate into English. I’m glad I used a free points night instead of paying for the room. They still charged my card a $300 deposit instead of the $100 they said it would be, and it was supposed to be refunded the next morning. I’m still waiting...

I’d stayed here a few times over the past four years, but the place has really gone downhill. For a relaxing Valentine’s Day morning, I booked the bathtub room and arrived to find a run-down, musty room with peeling paint and scuffs. It looked like the hotel had been trashed for New Year’s Eve, and nobody had bothered with maintenance afterward. I’m guessing there’s new management.
