Oceana Boutique Hotel

I hadn’t planned to write a review, but then Shelly, who said she was the manager, texted me by mistake and sent a screenshot of another customer’s reservation, including their full name, phone number, and email. When I pointed out the mix-up, she said that customer had the same last name as me, but he doesn’t. That level of carelessness is baffling, and I want the owner to know who is running the desk. Here’s what happened during our stay. I reserved a room for a friend from 12/31 to 1/2/26, but Shelly forgot to update the room number in the system. On 1/1/26, they gave my friend’s room to a man who was apparently running from the cops, while my friend’s belongings were still inside. The man stole some of his things and was eventually arrested. My friend was kicked out and left standing in the rain while staff investigated and treated him like a criminal. It could have been avoided if Shelly had updated the room number, as hotels normally do. I called Shelly and complained politely. She offered only $20. I asked to speak with the owner, but she refused and insisted the owner already knew about the issue, which I highly doubt. Any hotel would have at least comped the room for the night over a mistake like this. I made this review to warn people not to stay here and to make sure the owner hears what happened.
