Diamond Head Inn

The room was super tidy, thanks to the cleaning staff, and the outside area was clean too. We were right next to the beach, and I’d return after such a great experience. Isabella made me feel welcome when I checked in, and Marwa was lovely at checkout. Patty was amazing and helpful in every way, including getting me back into my room. Thanks so much to Jim for running the place so well. I definitely recommend it.

I came to San Diego for the first time and was glad I picked this spot. I arrived early to drop off my bags, and by chance the staff checked and found that my room was ready. Everyone gave great service. You’re only steps from the beach, with bars and restaurants within walking distance. The room was much better than I expected: great water pressure, a clean bed, no stains, and no odor. One of my best hotel stays. The only downside was that the pool at their sister hotel wasn’t heated. Since I was there in February, I can’t complain too much. I’d recommend this place and book again if the price stays good.

It’s lovely to step outside and hear the ocean waves, and the location is amazing. The renovated rooms are updated, though there are no frills. The supervisor, I think, who checked us in was warm and welcoming. Another woman, maybe a regular worker, was usually unsmiling and brief, and sometimes gave snarky replies when we asked questions.

Being on the beach in less than a minute was great, and the walk between the hotels for check-in took under three minutes. Check-in is a block away at another hotel. We were very pleased with the price, and the newly renovated Diamond Head Inn had clean rooms, a well appointed bathroom, and a small kitchen that was a nice extra. One night got noisy. I thought it was a local bar, but it was a group of friends in the room below us. Once they went out, we didn’t hear another sound. Friendly staff and great value. We’ll stay again.
