Four Points by Sheraton San Diego

I was in town because my daughter was in the hospital about a mile away, and I spent the night here. The staff were friendly and the place was okay, but it really needs updating. The $16 parking charge bothered me most. There are no gates, the lot is dark, and I didn’t see any security, so it feels like the money just goes to the company. The next morning I realized I could’ve said an Uber dropped me off. They had no way to know.

It’s been a month and a half since they overcharged me for a day, and I still haven’t gotten the money back even though I provided a receipt showing the right amount. The rest of the stay was just as bad. The rooms were dirty, and for several days the cleaning service left the trash and didn’t provide bags. At the front desk, a bottle of water cost $8, cash only. The hotel is about 30 minutes from anything worth visiting, and using the attached disc golf course costs an absurd $20. I’d strongly advise against staying here.

Mr. Amjad Asaad, the general manager, stood out to me. I’ve never seen a GM so present with both guests and staff, and he clearly cares about anticipating what people need and providing a solid product. The hotel is a great value, with clean, comfortable rooms. Everyone who helped me, from the front desk to housekeeping, was kind and accommodating. I’ll be back.

The event at the hotel wasn’t mentioned to us, and finding parking was barely possible. The TV didn’t work, the air conditioner couldn’t be adjusted, and the bathroom floor was dangerously slippery. Then, an hour before checkout, the cleaning lady showed up and gave me attitude even though we still had time. The staff were rude, and I left very disappointed.
