Holiday Inn Express San Diego Airport - Old Town by IHG

Our room had a balcony, but it opened straight onto the street, which was actually great. It also had a refrigerator, microwave, tub, and smart TV. Parking was easy, with lots of spaces, and the price was reasonable. The location is ideal for walking downtown, with shops, the freeway, and other things close by. The stay was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the free complementary breakfast. The downside was the front desk service. The young woman checking us out had a really bad attitude.

A little crowded in the TV room sometimes, but that was fine. It’s a great place to put your feet up and watch the game, with kind people and outstanding service. They’re doing some remodeling here, so be careful. Had a great evening, thanks so much. I really hope to stay with you guys soon.

The room was clean, with no stains on anything, and the area felt chill rather than sketchy despite being close to the freeway. We got free parking in the underground garage, though it usually costs money and I’m not sure why we didn’t have to pay. Breakfast had a pretty decent selection when I went one morning. There are signs of wear: the hotel is old, there were water damage stains and chips in the bathtub, and the pillows weren’t great. The beds were mostly okay, but mattresses are personal and these weren’t my preference, though they weren’t rock hard. For the price, it’s a solid choice, and I’d come back.

Old Town, with all its restaurants and attractions, is only a short walk away, which is the best thing about this Fairfield location. The rooms are clean and the grounds are large. It’s no fancy place, and the busy street makes the rooms pretty loud during the day, but it works well for a visit to Old Town.
