I don't share the positive reviews. The apartment was clean, but cramped, with a tiny bathroom sink and a mattress that felt like one from a foldout sofa. It's several blocks from the beach, not right on it, and the exterior is in poor condition. To me, it's just an old, run-down motel.

Celine was so welcoming at the desk on Sunday morning, and made us coffee and gave us useful directions. Her tips for places to eat and getting around were right on, and it was lovely to get such personable service. We'd arrived much later than planned during a busy weekend, but when I called to check, the staff were accommodating and made sure our reservation would be kept. The hotel is clean and comfortable, though not a luxury resort, and shops, restaurants, and the beach are all walkable. Thanks, Celine!

The room was a good size for a double bed, and I especially liked the massage chair and the watermelon-scented shampoo. I wish I could buy a gallon of that shampoo. The front desk staff were awesome and super nice, and there was even a cute dog named Benny. It's affordable, centrally located, and close enough to walk to lots of places. I loved staying here.

We could leave the car at the motel and walk around La Jolla Village, since the Ocean at La Jolla Cove and Prospect Street are just a couple of blocks away. There are also nice upstairs patios for barbecuing or sitting and looking out over the Village. It's an older motel, but it's well kept and a great value, with great people working there. We'll definitely be back. :-)

The room was spacious and really clean, with appliances that seemed new. The place isn't the most attractive, but its location is great, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the beach. The best part was the hospitality at La Jolla Village Lodge. Seline and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and genuine, and went out of their way to make my stay hassle-free. Even chatting with other guests over breakfast felt warm and friendly. I'll stay here whenever I'm in La Jolla.
