Lucky D's Hostel

The staff made this weeklong stay especially comfortable, always greeting us warmly and going out of their way to help. Mornings were easy too, thanks to a complimentary breakfast with healthy choices that were well prepared. Getting around was simple. Major downtown transport options are within walking distance, so it was easy to explore the city. I was really happy with the choice and would gladly return. A convenient stay with genuinely thoughtful hospitality.

Back for my second stay and still love it. The guests are friendly, the staff are great, and the location is spot on. There's a kitchen to use, and breakfast is free. It's a hostel, so you know what you're getting. Bring your own padlock for the room lockers and a towel for the showers if you want to save a few bucks.

The place was clean throughout, and breakfast was included and nice. They wash the sheets when you check out, which reassured me they'd been washed before I slept on them too. Big thanks to the staff for being so hospitable.

It's an okay place to stay, comfortable enough, and the staff are really nice. The convention center is a little over a 10-minute walk away, so the location is decent, but there are quite a few things to keep in mind. The floor felt grimy enough that we wore slides the whole time, and the towels we were given had someone else's hair on them. Dust had built up thickly on the ceiling fans, so much that we didn't want to turn them on. The private rooms can get hot, and there's no elevator, so expect to carry bags up four flights of stairs. Breakfast is limited and first come, first served. There seemed to be about a quart of milk for everyone each day, so dry cereal may be your best bet, or you could put coffee in it on about half the nights of your stay. Our windows didn't keep out noise and wouldn't stay open. They run on an odd rope pulley system and slide down, so you can't leave them open. At the time I wrote this, a guy with a modified or removed muffler was revving his engine and circling the block every day until 3 am. Earplugs may be needed until he stops. I hope they improve the windows, because the room sounds like they're fully open. Just pointing out things that could use attention or are worth knowing before you go. It was still an OK stay.
