Marriott Vacation Club®, San Diego

The room itself was nice and clean, and the staff were amazingly friendly. The activities room was excellent, and the pool and workout area were nice. But our room was right across from the only laundry area, and the door kept shutting all night. Not awful, unless you have kids trying to sleep. The heater and AC were loud and kept cycling on and off, waking us each time. Bring earplugs if you can sleep with them. Also, be ready for a Vacation Club sales pitch after check-in. I’d come back, and there’s potential for more than three stars.

I had a one-bedroom corner suite with a city view and everything I needed. The kitchen had a microwave, full cutlery set, and a refrigerator with a real freezer. Check-in was quick, and the staff were polite. There’s an Avis close by, so I could avoid overnight parking, and Balboa Park is nearby too. There were some people around, but coming from Seattle, that felt pretty ordinary.

Our three-day stay at the Marriott Convoy in San Diego was fantastic. The hotel felt modern and luxurious, with lovely interiors, a calm atmosphere, and great amenities. We had a top-floor penthouse room with a breathtaking view, especially at night. It was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. Housekeeping cleaned quickly and carefully each day, leaving everything fresh. The staff were welcoming and professional from check-in onward, and we had quiet nights and excellent service throughout. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next San Diego trip. Highly recommended!

Our family of five had a great stay, and we’d absolutely come back. The pool was well maintained and kept the kids busy for hours, and we enjoyed a cozy movie night in the roomy family space in the common area. The hotel and room were spotless, and it was quiet, with hardly any noise from neighboring units. The kitchenette is small: handy for morning coffee and toast for the kids, but not really suited to storing more than a meal’s leftovers or prepping lunches for day trips. That wasn’t a problem for us, just something to know. The stay met all our expectations, and we highly recommend it.
