Pendry San Diego

Roman and Logan were attentive and friendly, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. Juan at Provisional Kitchen listened to what I wanted and had great recommendations. Breakfast there was both convenient and delicious, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. My room had huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a breathtaking bay view. It was spotless and well maintained, with Maria Consuelo making sure I had fresh coffee and water and that the bed was made each day. I also loved the relaxing treatments at the hotel’s wellness center. The therapists were skilled and the therapies left me feeling rejuvenated. Pendry is a stunning luxury hotel in the heart of downtown, close to popular attractions, fine dining, and nightlife. The location makes it convenient for business trips or an active visit. I had a fantastic stay and am already looking forward to coming back.

I was here for a mastermind conference and got to meet keynote speakers. The rooms are gorgeous and the beds are comfy. The food was surprisingly good for hotel food, too. Everything is so walkable. I walked along the Harbour and had lunch by the water at one of my favorite seafood places. I’ll definitely stay at Pendry again when I’m in San Diego. ♥️

The noise made this a poor fit for us. We were on a lower floor near the elevator and could hear street music all night, until around 2-3 a.m. Conversations in the hallway came through clearly, and my wife couldn’t sleep at all. The glass bathroom also has awkward privacy. There’s a shower curtain, but it’s on the outside, so showering with friends would be uncomfortable. The location is good, right in downtown San Diego and within walking distance of the aircraft carrier museum. There’s also a nearby baseball stadium and plenty of bars. The mattress had medium firmness and good support. The hotel offers complimentary Cadillac rentals, though we didn’t use one because we had our own car. Valet is the only hotel parking option and costs $70 a night. Nearby self-parking is $30-40 a day, but we worried about break-ins and didn’t use it. Between the noise, bathroom privacy, and parking expense, this falls well short of five-star standards. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Pendry San Diego is a good choice if you want a stylish, lively stay in the middle of Gaslamp. Restaurants, nightlife, and the marina are all close enough to walk to. The rooftop pool has a great daytime vibe, and downstairs the bars and restaurants turn the hotel into a social scene at night. It’s lively, but still feels controlled and well managed. The design is modern, warm, and upscale without feeling cold. Rooms are spacious, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms have high-end finishes. Everything feels polished, and the service is great. If you’re after quiet oceanfront relaxation, this isn’t that kind of place, but for a central, fun stay with energy and luxury, it delivers.
