San Diego Mission Bay Resort

The pool setup made family time easy. There’s a small kids’ pool, towels are provided, and the poolside bar serves food near the restrooms. The pool, gym, bar, and store were all great, and the live music was awesome. The kids also enjoyed the convenient s’mores night. The onsite restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the coffee shop makes a tasty caramel macchiato at a good price. The rooms were okay, with a great-sized TV, though they could use some updating. We weren’t in the room much. The resort is well placed for Sea World, Pacific Beach, and Point Loma.

We’re a military family with a six-year-old and two dogs, and stayed at the resort before flying out of San Diego. The staff were amazing, and the food, drinks, and atmosphere worked perfectly for us parents and our little man. He made lots of friends, and the live music and kids’ s’mores night were a hit. We’ll absolutely stay here again when we come back to San Diego.

The staff were welcoming, the place was clean, and getting onto the freeway was quick and easy thanks to the central location. We had a good time and I’d recommend it, though I’d check what’s open first. I went in the off season, and only one restaurant was open all week even though the website lists several restaurants and bars. One evening a company had reserved the game room and lounge, so we couldn’t use them. The huge pool was unheated and very cold. Also, the toilet paper was so rough I had to buy my own roll. It was porta potty quality. Still a nice spot, but I wish they’d been clearer about what would be available during our stay. Summer might be better.

We spent the weekend here with family and loved it. During the day, the poolside restaurant serves food and drinks. At night, the other restaurant opens, with fire pits and live music. The pool is spacious, has plenty of chairs, and feels very family-friendly. This could become our regular place to stay when we visit San Diego.
