The Beach Cottages

For a group of friends looking to enjoy the area, this place has a great location near the beach and restaurants. Our studio was plain but clean, and worked for our family of four. The full kitchen came in handy for quick breakfasts and keeping leftovers during our four-night stay. Front desk and housekeeping staff were quick to respond when we needed anything. We were satisfied with our stay at The Beach Cottages. The main issue was nighttime music from nearby bars and restaurants on the weekend. One bar connected to our building played so loudly we could hear and feel it through the walls, so we used a white noise app to sleep. Weekdays were quieter. I’d hesitate to recommend it to families with young kids or anyone who prefers to avoid nightlife noise.

We were happy we chose this place and would come back. The one-bedroom cottage was older and worn in spots, but clean and comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy, and staff left us to ourselves unless we needed help. Housekeeping sent a text before coming to clean. We stayed five days last week, in the off season. The location was great, with the pier, restaurants, and everything in Pacific Beach easily walkable. Stepping out to see the ocean and sunsets was wonderful. I’d worried about noise after reading reviews, but it wasn’t noticeable for us. The fire station responding to calls was the loudest thing we heard, and one group on the boardwalk quieted down around 10 pm. Summer could be different.

I called to book and the woman I spoke with was amazing. She walked me through the parking and the room layouts and choices. I was surprised by how affordable the prices are for what they offer. So excited for a much-needed reset, and I’ll be back with pictures.

Right on the beach, with loads of places nearby to eat, drink, or hang out. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff. If the front desk didn’t have what you needed, they could point you to a nearby place to get it. The room was a great deal, with a wine-cooler-style mini fridge, microwave, plates, cups, mugs, and wine glasses. There were plenty of fan options and a sliding screen door for fresh air. Such a cute spot, no complaints, highly recommend!
