The Pearl Hotel

We love coming back to The Pearl. The vintage feel and cozy rooms are great, and this time the food, drinks, and service were phenomenal too. During Golden Hour at Ponyboy yesterday evening, Meg took excellent care of us. We felt comfortable the whole stay and are already planning another trip.

Kenneth at check-in was a pleasure to talk to. The towels, robes, and bathroom soaps and shampoos were nice, and the mini splits let you control the room temperature well. Rooms were clean, with a campy retro feel. A heads-up: Google Maps still lists breakfast as free, but breakfast doesn't exist. They've also changed the restaurant schedule, which is now closed Sun and M. The restaurant and bar can get lively, which is fun, but it's a small hotel and the noise made it hard to sleep before closing. Not ideal if you need an early night's rest before the first flight the next day.

After a rough day of travel delays and luggage problems, my friend and I needed somewhere near the airport. The Pearl was just right and made us feel at home. Tawny was amazing, and Ian at the front desk was great too. If we're in San Diego again, this will be a regular stop, whether we're staying, eating at the restaurant, having a drink at the bar, or grabbing a slice of grasshopper pie. Thanks for the hospitality!

The rooms were cozy and clean, and Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs were easy to get to. My girlfriend and I had a lovely weekend in San Diego, thanks in part to the warm, personal hospitality at the Pearl Hotel. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly. We'll be back.
