Johnny from maintenance came to fix a few things, and the whole job was done in one visit just hours after I put in the request. He was amazing, and the maintenance team deserves a shout-out. Moving to San Diego got off to a stressful start when a pipe burst in my first apartment, which wasn't Promenade, and flooded most of the place within my first 30 days. I was displaced for nearly three weeks, and that management team showed little empathy. I'm glad the situation led me to Promenade. Samantha listened carefully, respected my budget, and quickly helped me find the right apartment without pressuring me. I love living here. The apartment is updated, the neighbors are respectful, and the community is peaceful and well maintained. The security guards and fob access help me feel safe. After that rocky beginning, this feels like home. I'm grateful I moved.

The maintenance team at Promenade is quick, friendly, and professional every time. José recently helped us and went above and beyond what we asked to make sure everything was handled. We're very grateful for his help and really appreciate the service here.
We lived here several years ago and loved it, and we're looking forward to making it home for a long time. Things went fairly smoothly, and Johnny in maintenance did a great job with some minor apartment repairs. The issue was two rugs taken from the parcel room. The notice says management may remove packages left in the locker more than three days to make room, and that residents will be notified if a package is removed. But when I asked about our rugs, I was told that wasn't the case. I'm sure there are cameras in that area, and if there aren't, there should be. For older residents' safety, bathrooms should also have grab bars.
For the rent we're all paying, management or the owners should have more control over what's happening. I'm seriously considering moving as soon as I can. In building 5, the elevators have been in this state for over a year. Only two of the three work right now; the third is supposedly being "remodeled," but it's been abandoned for over a month and can't be used. Security feels nonexistent. Courtesy patrol is useless, and they answer messages reluctantly. They spend all night watching TV in the game room and chatting with homeless people like they're friends, but can't resolve noise complaints or package thefts. All they say is, "I'm just a security guard," and to call the police. It's ridiculous. The neighborhood has filled up with noisy, fighting people, drug dealers, and armed people. There's a smell of dog urine, and people scream and fight in the apartments. It seems anyone can live here now; I doubt they do criminal background checks. I'm scared to go out and take the trash because some neighbors seem to be selling drugs or doing suspicious transactions in the hallway. Different "visitors," including homeless and drugged people, come into the building every day.
We've renewed our lease several times and plan to stay until we're ready to buy a house. People are always cleaning the property and keeping things nice, and the maintenance team is great and quick to respond. Having businesses downstairs is a big plus. I can get a haircut, run into the market for snacks, and pick up great food from luccas pizza. No apartment is perfect, but this is easily the best one we've lived in.
