We rented two small house-style condo units at the Bahia Resort Hotel and loved the patio garden areas. They gave us room to relax with privacy, and the resort was quiet, clean, and nicely maintained. It felt peaceful and convenient for a family. We’ll absolutely come back. I wish more hotels were like this. The open lobby was handy for waiting on Ubers or just unwinding, and the front desk staff were always welcoming. They even gave us useful tips for visiting the USS Midway. We had pizza at the on-site restaurant, and the evenings stayed quiet. There was plenty of space to settle in. We enjoyed the private beach, hot tub, and easy walk to the “beach beach” for surfing and other ocean activities. The sea lions right at the hotel were a favorite surprise. We were mainly there for SeaWorld, but seeing them before it even opened sealed how special the place felt, literally 🦭. The Airstream breakfast spot was fun, and the gift shop saved me when I realized I’d forgotten a toothbrush. We also had Amazon packages delivered, and staff helped without any trouble. Laundry service was available too, which was nice to have as an option.

We were in room 495, in the building farthest from the lobby, but had amazing water views over a park. Golf cart shuttles are available if you ask, though we didn’t need one. The rooms were nice, and we had a great stay. We’d definitely come back. The location worked perfectly, with Mission Beach, Belmont park, Starbucks, a great BBQ restaurant, gelato, and a couple of shops all a 5-10 minute walk away. The resort was well kept and staff were helpful and kind. The heated pool area is sheltered, so you stay warm even when it’s a little chilly. The pool and 33 person hot tub were great, and there were always plenty of towels. The pool bar wasn’t open, probably because we visited in late February, so we went to the restaurant for takeaway food and drinks. We used the tennis courts and could borrow racquets and balls. The Airstream food truck was amazing, we ate there every morning and highly recommend it. Watching the rescue seals was fun, especially for little ones, since they feed them three times a day.

Free parking was a nice surprise, like finding a unicorn around here. The location suited us well, about 15 minutes from our planned speedboat adventure and roughly the same from the seaport. We didn’t have time for the pickleball or tennis courts, though they looked nice. We’d come back next time we’re in San Diego. We felt at home from the friendly welcome. Our room had what we needed, a really comfortable bed, and a decent view from the balcony. It wasn’t amazing, but it was good. There were plenty of towels, which can be an issue at some places. The grounds were lovely and felt safe for a walk. The pool looked beautiful, though we didn’t swim, and the hot tub was huge, supposedly for 30 people.

For our first family trip to San Diego, we came all the way from WISCONSIN, and the Bahia Resort made it unforgettable. We had an amazing time and plan to return in late spring. The resort is central to everything at Mission Beach, relaxing and comfortable, very family friendly, and clean, with immaculate grounds and amazing views. The hospitality really stood out. Everyone we met was welcoming and kind. A special thanks to Steven and Georgia🤩 at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our guest experience exceptional. Brooklyn, Andre & Lily at Bianchi's Pizza & Pasta were also friendly and attentive, gave excellent service, and made our family feel comfortable. We absolutely recommend the resort.

For my mom’s 80th birthday, our group of 12 stayed at the Bahia Resort Hotel from 12/22/2025-12/24/2025. The suite occupied by a family of four was a real plus: it had a spacious living area, a large bathroom, and a separate bedroom with two queens. We could all gather there comfortably and watch the slideshow. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, though the double queen garden-view rooms were small, dark, and had limited lighting. The resort felt dated. I asked about using a small private room for dinner and a short slideshow. The $100 room fee seemed fair, but another $300 just to use the TV felt excessive, so I didn’t book it. We were paying for five rooms for four nights, and they weren’t being used. I felt this should have been free, and the charge really put me off. The location was okay, with walks to the bay, beach, restaurants, and shops, but it’s on Mission Bay rather than a scenic ocean beach. Staff were friendly, and Dockside restaurant was very good, one of the highlights. The large hot tub was enjoyable, although the chlorine seemed so high it bleached our swimsuits. Overall, the friendly service and good dining couldn’t lift this beyond a three-star stay given the dated, small garden rooms, average location, and extra fees.
