I loved the old photos in the hallways and my room, and the bed was comfy. The location made it easy to get on transit, walk to the park, or head down Haight. My simple interior room was clean, though the carpet had stains that looked like someone had tried to remove them. There's no AC, but opening the windows brought in a nice breeze; the baseboard heater kept me warm in the evening. I couldn't quite figure out its dial, so I guessed. Breakfast had grab-and-go basics, hot sausage, coffee, cereal, yogurt, and chocolate milk from the fridge. I didn't talk with staff much, but they were helpful when I did. Housekeeping brought fresh towels and left the one I'd hung up for drying my hands, which I appreciated during a short stay. Minus one star for the Gideon's bible in the bedside drawer.
