We were upgraded to the king suite, and the bed was the highlight: lush and spacious, with just enough pillows, iykyk! The building and interior are stunning. There’s secure parking out back, and the location is central, with lots of restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood felt very safe. Since the building is old, soundproofing isn’t great, and you can hear people in the hallway. It didn’t cause much trouble during our stay and wasn’t enough to affect my rating. They offer a small breakfast in the morning and a free welcome beverage. There’s also a popular deli across the street with highly recommended sandwiches. Staff were proactive and accommodating. I’d love to stay again someday.

We liked the location so much we didn’t need a car for two days. Great neighborhood restaurants in Japan town and the Fillmore District, as well as Union Square Union, SFMoMA, and other places of interest, were all within walking distance. We also enjoyed sandwiches from Limoncello deli across from the Mansion. We stayed two nights in a comfortable deluxe king room. The Mansion is beautiful, furnished with interesting decorations and pictures that make it feel like a little museum. Check-in was easy, and parking was too, thanks to clear instructions with the early online check-in option. The room and bed were comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, and brought us hot tea before bed. Breakfast choices leaned sweet, though we could order eggs any style or an omelette. A wonderful place to return to.

Ash and Krish were so helpful and friendly, and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. We love bringing our dog here, my boyfriend and I. The hotel and location are gorgeous, and we got a free room upgrade. Breakfast was delicious, and I enjoyed every minute. Thanks for making us feel so welcome. We’d absolutely come back.

The hotel is lovely, with original 1900s decor and art, and the staff are tremendously friendly and helpful. They understand hospitality. It’s within walking distance of SFJazz, City Hall, and the major concert venues. We stay here whenever we’re in SF.

The Mansion itself is gorgeous, and the hospitality there helped make our wedding day magical. From getting ready to the tea ceremony and afterparty, we couldn’t have done it without the Sutter Mansion team. My husband and I booked the whole mansion for our wedding weekend, since many guests were coming from out of town and staying with us. Amit and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. We had several walkthroughs before the big day, and they let us preview the bride and groom suites. We planned a small wedding with many guests staying at the Mansion, so we held the afterparty there too. Amit and the Sutter staff helped us picture how to use the space. Sutter changed management shortly before our August wedding. The new owner introduced himself and made sure we had everything we needed. We can’t recommend the Sutter enough. It was gorgeous.
