Ram's Hotel

A few things to know: the bathrooms are shared, housekeeping only comes if you request it, and the front desk is open just a few hours each day. Even so, it’s hard to beat as an affordable base for a city visit. For this price in San Francisco, it’s a good deal. The location is central and convenient for getting around, the rooms are clean, the wifi is dependable for remote work, and the front desk staff are attentive and considerate.

I’ve rarely had such a difficult hotel experience. The staff seemed welcoming at first, apparently to draw me in, but once they had my money they treated me terribly and made me feel bad for wanting to pay for somewhere to stay. I felt seen as trouble even though I tried to think the best of people. The staff don’t seem to understand hospitality, and their attitude came across as jaded and cold. The neighborhood seemed like one of the worst and most dangerous in San Francisco. This was probably the worst “Airbnb” I’ve stayed in, and one of my worst hotel experiences. Thanks to Ram Hotels for making the hardest move of my life even more difficult. I’m glad I won’t be around anymore to deal with what felt like an inconsiderate, entitled, jaded “community” at a hotel that thinks highly of itself.

The room was clean and smelled fresh, and the bathrooms were spotless. Rams Hotel is an easy walk from Van Ness and Market, so it’s convenient for getting to Muni or BART. I had a wonderful stay and will come back.

I stayed for three months and got a spacious, comfortable room, which I hadn’t expected in such a central location. It was an excellent stay for a very reasonable price. There’s a large fridge and freezer in the room, plus a clean, well-stocked shared kitchen. The whole place is kept tidy, and the sliding wooden blinds block out the light completely.
