Days Inn by Wyndham San Jose

The front desk attendant was pleasant, the only good part of the hotel. I was very disappointed that this place had a Wyndham tag on it. I’ll see how Wyndham responds to this rating and post an update on my Google places to travel. My second room had holes in the wall, a barely attached toilet seat, a noisy, uncomfortable bed, badly damaged carpet, and two disgusting, unusable chairs. The paint was peeling and dirty, there was mold in the bathtub, and the lighting was unsuitable. Since this was the room I was moved to, you can imagine what the first one looked like.

I booked online because the website photos made the place look clean and pristine. The room was so run down when I got in, with several stains and hair on the bedspread, and the TV didn’t work. I was exhausted and grossed out, so I left right away and asked for a refund. How is anyone overseeing the quality of these hotels when they’re presented as clean? The reception clerk looked at the room and said they would refund me, but I had to call the third-party booking agency. That took about 40 minutes, and then I filled out an online refund request. Don’t stay here unless you want a gross experience.

After a long day of air travel from out of state, finding a filthy room was such a disappointment. Room 16 smelled bad, the bathroom walls and baseboards were dirty, and the sheets were so gross I had to wonder whether anyone in management would let their family stay there. I called 8 different hotels around 1am looking for another option. Everything else was booked, so I ended up staying. I checked in around 12:30 am local time, late Wednesday into early Thursday. Kris was very helpful getting me settled, but what came next was unacceptable. I can live with an outdated hotel, but not filthy sheets and a dirty room.

I was trying to help an elderly gentleman contact his visiting daughter from Europe because he didn’t have a local phone. The front desk wouldn’t leave her a message since he didn’t know her room number. They were incredibly rude and showed no compassion for what seemed like an emergency. Shame on you Wyndham properties for running such a dump.
