Element by Marriott San Jose Airport

The hotel is comfortable, clean, and convenient, but the laundry setup cost it a star for me. You have to download an app and put money in an account, with deposits only allowed in $5 increments even though each load costs $3. It seems set up so you’ll put in more than you need. The app also makes you approve tracking your information, so you’re sharing more personal data in the process. Why make doing laundry this complicated? Marriott, you can do better. Protect your customers’ data and make the process simple again by getting rid of these machines. New doesn’t always mean better.

We stayed here twice, for 7 days total between 2024 and 2025, and would stay again. I’d recommend it to families and business travelers. Though it’s near the airport, we never heard or noticed the planes. The room layout worked well even with 4 people. It had a lovely bathroom, good lighting throughout, a generous fridge, and a good dishwasher. The outdoor fireplace was an amazing place to sit and chat with everyone on a cold night. The bar food is consistently good. I’d recommend the wings, which were moist and crispy, and the Cesar salad was very good too. The salt water pool and gym were good, though there were no kettlebells. Breakfast had a good range of healthy and standard options, and the breakfast staff were super attentive, which really elevated the experience. Customer service was wonderful as usual. Thank you!

Everything felt brand new, and the kitchen looked like it had never been used. Every bit of the rooms and lobby was spotless and well maintained. The hotel is amazingly managed, the staff were very accommodating, and service was great. It’s the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’ll be back.

Breakfast was included, though the choices were pretty limited, and the room itself was clean, pleasant, and quiet. We were in San Jose for a wedding in early September and arrived after noon, but apparently still too early to check in. We were rushing to get ready for that evening, so Kuljit at the desk really helped us out. Since we were Marriott members, he found us a room that was ready sooner. It made the weekend much less stressful, thanks so much :)
