Summit Hotel

Star made us feel right at home. She greeted us with a smile every time and was helpful at the front desk, no matter what hour it was. Having someone so attentive and available was a real highlight. The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained too. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back.

We saw what may have been two roaches during our one-night stay. One was on the wall above the TV before disappearing behind it, and then one, or possibly the same one, crossed the wall mirror beside the TV and dresser. Gross, and we were glad to be checking out. I told the front desk, and the woman apologized and said they spray and she’d never heard of roaches. She didn’t offer a discount. I later found another guest’s review mentioning roaches from four months earlier, and wish we’d checked reviews before booking. The outside, lobby, and check-in staff all seemed nice, but we won’t spend money at a roach hotel. We won’t stay here again.

We stay here several times a month, and it’s the only hotel I use in San Jose. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, and they’re being updated. It’s pet friendly and close to the freeway. There’s no breakfast, which we prefer since it helps keep the room price down. The lobby is spacious and nicely decorated, and it looked even prettier during the holidays. The price is very reasonable, and the staff are wonderfully friendly. They remember us when we return, so it feels like visiting friends. Front desk staff make check-in and check-out easy, and housekeeping is friendly too.

Sheeran at the front desk was welcoming and always smiling, and he’s the chillest front desk person I’ve ever seen. The rooms are great and have everything, including a hair dryer and iron. The pool was excellent, and my stay was excellent too.
