Madonna Inn

We stopped here on the way from pismo beach to San Jose, just to take a break, not to stay. The whole area was fascinating, with beautiful, attractive architecture, and even the restrooms were fancy, almost palace-like. The bakery was great, and on Valentine's Day the restaurant was beautifully decorated.

This place was lovely, all pink and beautiful, and the desserts were amazing. I had the best cake I've ever tasted. I also liked the shops and the beautiful bathrooms. I didn't go into the men's bathroom, but my husband said it had a water fountain. Worth stopping by, you won't regret it.

I've been driving past here since I was a little girl, and 15 years later it's nice to see the place is still being kept up. The rooms are a little dingy, but you could call that part of the charm. I loved the wonderful selection of high quality clothes in the gift shops, and the pool was amazing. Late checkout is great, too, and the pool stays open till 11!

We stayed twice, a week apart, and had an amazing experience both times. The front desk staff were great, the food was delicious, and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. We're already planning another trip. The rooms are all different, though some share the same layout, and we'd like to stay in each one eventually. The only snag was that the weather affected horseback riding. That wasn't the staff's fault: when it rains, the horses can't go out on the trail for safety. The horse staff kept in touch during both stays and updated us each day on trail conditions. We hope to ride next time. There was a small issue at the café, but it was fixed right away. The pool area was beautiful and well maintained, with a heated pool and a lovely view of the valley. We also loved the pool food cafe, where sandwiches were made on the spot with fresh ingredients. The rooms can seem pricey and cost more than other hotels, but you're paying for an experience, and that makes it worth it.
