The full kitchen is great since we often eat in the room, and the bed was very good, though the pillows were too soft for me. The A/C and heat both worked perfectly and quietly. The location is great and easy to reach, and the price was good. Lobby coffee is MUCH better than the in-room coffee. There was sugar and Sweet & Low in the room, but no creamer, so I had to go to the lobby each morning to fix my coffee. The staff were great, and I'd definitely stay again.

During a very stressful time, Grayson at the front desk was kind, compassionate, professional, and empathetic. I really appreciated how helpful he was. Our room was nice and the stay was pleasant, and I'll definitely return. Grayson is the main reason Candlewood Suites will always be my choice in San Marcos. Frontline employees really do make the difference.

I was in room 207 near the elevator, so I could hear people coming and going, especially around checkout time. It wasn't unbearable, though. The room was clean, very spacious, comfortable, and had a kitchenette. I checked in for one night around 10 PM, and the process was smooth. Grayson at the front desk was a pleasure and arranged a late checkout since I'd checked in so late. There's free coffee at the hotel store, too. One of the better hotels in San Marcos, and I'd recommend it if you need a place to stay while visiting.

We stayed a couple of days and were glad we chose this place after the other area hotels had sold out. The staff were friendly, and our room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. We especially liked the freshly brewed coffee. Thanks to Mona at the front desk for finding us a room that let us check in early after a long drive.

We were in town for a funeral, and everyone was very friendly and wished us well. They greeted me right away and knew who I was as soon as I mentioned my reservation, which really impressed me. The rooms were clean and cozy, with no complaints. In the morning, it felt like they knew I was coming down and checked me out promptly. Thank you, Candlewood. We'll keep staying here!
