The traffic noise from Bollinger Canyon was distracting, and the suites feel badly in need of an update. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day, but in our experience it was usually three days between visits. They also didn’t replace soap or lotion once we’d used them. We stayed for two weeks. The carpets were frayed and stained, and the living room chair and sofa were visibly dirty and damaged. Since dogs are allowed, my kid’s allergies were severely aggravated. We couldn’t relax in the living area, so we sat on the beds or the counter chairs instead. The bathrooms have tubs and shower curtains rather than glass partitions.

The setup takes a little getting used to: the rooms are in townhouse clusters with outside entrances, and you collect your key at check-in before driving over to your building. It wasn’t a big deal for me. I enjoyed my stay on a quick business trip, and the location near restaurants worked well for what I needed.

I booked a room two weeks ahead, but when I came to check in, the front desk employee said I had no reservation. He was rude, yelled at me, and kept saying he’d worked there for 21 years and knew better than any customer. Worst customer service ever.

The staff were the strongest part of my stay, 5/5. Cleanliness was 4/5, while the room and breakfast were each 3.5/5. This is an older Residence Inn with several buildings and apartment-style layouts. It’s handy for shopping plazas across the street, including Trader Joe’s, restaurants, a movie theater, and Target. My second-floor room meant hauling my things up a flight of stairs. The room was just okay. There was a noticeable smell, the bathroom vent didn’t seem to work, and the TV remote was slow and unresponsive. The bed was less comfortable than the one at another Residence Inn I’d stayed in the night before. Decent for a short visit, but not my first choice.
