Ocean Bungalows at Turtle Bay Resort

Roy at the pool bar was a standout, checking on everyone, bringing ice water, making daily smoothies, and mixing excellent drinks. I'd give him a 7 out of 5. The concierge team was also professional, and when we had a couple of maintenance problems, the staff handled them superbly. Our room was great and the view hard to beat. This was our second anniversary trip to the bungalows. A year ago an investment group owned the property and everything was a solid five; now Ritz Carlton owns it, and the experience wasn't as good. The grounds are still nice, but weren't maintained as well as last year. The gate sign calls the bungalow pool a “tranquility pool,” but children took it over every afternoon during our week there. They were just being kids, but it was far from peaceful. On one afternoon, three or four couples left almost together when the kids showed up. I told management, and nothing changed. Couples looking for a quiet break should avoid summer. Cleaning needs work too. There was a towel beneath the bathroom sink when we arrived, plus a large hair stuck high on the shower wall. I told the cleaners and management, but the hair was still there when we left. Given the room's cost, this wasn't the experience I expected. As the saying goes, one bad drop can spoil a whole barrel.
