We’ve stayed here quite a few times, and it’s been great every visit. The sheets are clean, and we haven’t seen bugs or mold. You’ll smell pot around Sand Springs because it’s hard to avoid, but they do a good job keeping it off the hotel lot. From what I can tell, a lot of the negative reviews come from people who didn’t like being told no, even though the hotel policies are very clear. They’re honest people. Just be decent.

The room was quiet and clean, and it suited us for one night before our morning flight. The bed was pretty hard, though, and I sleep better on a soft one. We chose the hotel for its location near family, and you can see they’re updating the property. It’s an old place, but for an overnight stay, cleanliness was what mattered most to me. After driving through a marijuana haze near a dispensary, I was glad to see the front desk sign warning of a $300 fine for smoking in a room. So I was surprised when the hallway reeked later that night. I told the front desk lady and asked for a towel to block the smell from coming under our door. She brought towels and said she’d try to find where it was coming from. I’m posting the only photo I took. 😅

The shower had great water pressure, and the bathroom had granite countertops, but the showerhead was so low that I had to crouch or lean way back to get my hair wet. The room itself was clean, and I didn’t notice any bugs. Still, as soon as I opened the door, it smelled strongly of weed and old cigarettes. After checking out, my clothes and belongings still smelled. For the price, the dated hotel was mostly what I expected. I guess I got what I paid for, but that nauseating smell means I wouldn’t stay here again.

The hallway outside our room reeked of pot when we came back around 1:30 a.m., and the smell got into our room all night. It was so strong by the door that I felt like I got a contact high. There was also a violent fight next door, with a woman screaming and crying while a man abused her and said he’d kill her. I was alone in my room, and it scared me. On top of that, someone played their TV at full volume at 1:30, the air conditioner didn’t work, the toilet kept running off and on, and there were doors slamming and people yelling all night. Loud rap music was playing outside at 7 a.m. The deadbolt didn’t work, so I put a chair in front of the door so I’d hear if anyone came in. Showers in neighboring rooms were so loud it felt like the person was in my room. There was a tiny bar of soap, but no shampoo or conditioner, so I was glad I’d brought my own. The hotel mostly seemed to cater to transients. Breakfast was disgusting. There was no juice, just some kind of orange drink that tasted like Tang, plus waffles, cold cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal. No bread, bagels, toast, muffins, or anything like that. There were a few bananas, but a grubby homeless person had touched them all, so we passed. When I tried calling the front desk about six times that night, nobody answered. My friend, who was in another room, also found no one at the desk. I was exhausted, gave up, and only dozed a few times. At checkout I tried to tell the woman at the front desk about the pot smell, the fighting couple, and the loud music, but she dismissed me. The smell was still there in the morning, though weaker. I pointed out the zero-tolerance sign, and she only said she was sorry. Nothing was done. She eventually went to a back room, then came out with the manager’s business card and said there was nothing she could do and I should call Monday morning. In the hotel’s response to my review, they said they take complaints seriously, but I felt completely ignored. How would calling the manager two days later help? The problem had already happened. Nice try with that response. Yuck. Save yourself the trouble, spend a few extra bucks, and stay somewhere better. This place is disgusting and unsafe.
