Express Airport Inn

The room was in awful shape and couldn't conceivably be worth even $93 a night. The advertised rate was $62 per night, but we were charged three times that, so we figured the listed price meant we had three nights. The person at the desk said there were no rooms at that rate. Highway robbery. Don't stay here.

This was the most run-down, nasty hotel I've ever had the misfortune to be booked into. I asked for a ground-floor room from the start. The first room was above a group of guys smoking, and when I explained I couldn't handle the smoke for health reasons, the staff found a ground-floor room. It was marked non-smoking, but smelled so strongly of cigarettes you could taste it, and there was an ashtray inside. The chairs and curtains were filthy, with strange spots I don't want to identify. I'll never return, and I'll never use the booking service that put us in this hellhole.

If you have to stay here, keep your shoes on the carpet or your feet will turn black, and shake out your bags because there are flying cockroaches. The place is filthy. The TV, refrigerator, and microwave were daisy-chained to one outlet, which is a safety hazard. Whoever showed housekeeping how to make beds needs their head examined. A twin fitted sheet does not go on a queen bed. Also, a family shouldn't be living at the hotel, especially while customers are being told the maximum stay under Henrico county and/Virginia State law is 30 days.

My husband and I picked this hotel near the airport after seeing decent recent reviews, and it was a big mistake. The room was so dirty that we left and slept in our car at the airport. It hadn't been dusted in what looked like years, and sticky drink was splashed on the walls and TV. We found at least three cigarette butts on the floor. The sheets had been washed, but still had cigarette burns and mystery stains. Absolutely awful, not clean at all.
