Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel

After the kitchen had closed, Abdulla still made sure I got something to eat, and he took care of my gluten allergy even though I was late. He’d already cleaned the bar, but he decided to make me a drink too. He was easygoing about my order and took the time to chat with me. It was one of the kindest gestures I’ve received in a while. I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant in this Sheraton. Thank you, Sheraton, and thank you, Abdulla.

AB was my check-in receptionist and was really kind, going over everything with me. The bedding, shower, and towels were clean, and I’d recommend the hotel. I took off a point for the room and overall score because there were red stains on the carpet. We reported them and were asked if we wanted someone to clean them, but we were too tired from the drive.

The rooms kept changing, and I couldn’t get much sleep. First, the air conditioning failed and my room reached 80. They said there was no maintenance person available to fix it, and maybe someone would come the next morning. After five hours, at 11 PM, I was moved to a room with working air conditioning but other problems. The next morning, they moved me again to a different type of room than the one I’d been assigned. I asked several times to speak with a manager, but nobody was available. I was told he might come after 4 PM, though he rarely comes to the hotel. I rarely saw anyone at the front desk. Some staff were very nice, but my two-night stay was a cluster of misadventures. I’ve never left a poor review for a Marriott hotel before, and I’ve stayed over 1200 nights at Marriotts. Don’t stay here.

Karen was fantastic. Our first room had a thermostat problem, and when it couldn’t be fixed, she checked that the next room was comfortable before moving us. The whole staff was pleasant, and we especially want to thank Karen. The rooms are conveniently arranged and pleasant.
