My parents had a fine room and the beds were comfortable, but ours was filthy. The beds looked perfectly made, so housekeeping had clearly been in, yet the bathroom floor had a sharp Adidas shoe logo and leafy name tracked into the dirt. The toilet and shower were dirty too, with hair everywhere and used soap from the previous guest still in the shower. I only noticed the soap after we’d already stayed the night, and neither my husband nor I felt okay using the shower. Dust covered the edges of the kitchen table, and the main room didn’t look swept. My dad and I checked in together, but our rooms ended up in separate buildings on opposite sides of the lot, which made choosing where to park awkward. I’m not fussy about hotels, and it doesn’t need to be fancy, but this was the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed.

We came with a group and had five rooms, all of them clean and nice. The rooms seemed better kept than on my visit last year, with new bedspreads and a fridge and microwave in each one. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Cedar Point is only about a five-minute drive away. We had a wonderful stay, despite the other reviews.

I work as a housekeeper, as do my international friends who are heading back to their countries soon, so I knew this inn wouldn’t be like the fancy, expensive place where we all work. Still, a room should at least be clean. We booked two nights to take our group to Cedar Point, and I’d asked for extra towels and toiletries when reserving room 112. We found a lot wrong right away. The bathroom had hair on the tile, in the tub, and on the shower walls. Once we turned on the water, a live critter appeared in the tub, and I suspect it came from the faucet. The toilet looked unclean and smelled strongly of urine; the mirrors weren’t clean either. We got very few towels and toiletries despite my request. The king bed had hair on the sheets and pillowcases, stains on the sheets, and musty smelling blankets. The queen bed was better. The pullout couch was uncomfortable, had no sheets or extras, and its cushions looked like they had bodily fluid stains. There was a bottle of cleaner left in the room, which can happen, but the mini fridge was so dirty inside, with crumbs, dirt, and sticky residue, that I used the cleaner and a washcloth to clean it before putting our food in. The floor could have used a vacuum too. We were out for more than eight hours and got no room service. After asking for towels because ours were used, we were told they were being washed. We understood and asked if someone could bring five to seven when they were ready, but we got three. When we asked again, the woman said that was all they had. We also each ended up with lots of bites on our feet and legs. We thought they were mosquito bites, but mine hurt and itched so badly that I went to the doctor when I got home. They turned out to be bed bug bites. I’m very upset and want my money back. I plan to call a manager, owner, or someone who will listen and take me seriously. I would never recommend this place.

Being so close to everything meant we avoided traffic at the end of the Cedar Point Halloweekends nights, and the price was hard to beat. We stayed three nights, and the spacious room met our needs. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little small, but worked fine for us. Staff were very nice and helped with whatever we needed. Thanks, Budget Host!

The hotel was fine for what I paid, around $100, and I’d recommend it. The room was a bit musty but clean. Overnight, a fairly new staff member was working alone and charged me twice, even though I’d already paid through a third party site. The morning manager was polite and professional and refunded the money right away.
