Hampton Inn Sandusky-Central

I've stayed with Hilton for years, mostly at Hampton Inns, and have had both nice stays and ones with small problems. The Hampton Sandusky was the worst hotel stay I've had. The place smelled when I arrived and seemed like an old hotel that had been bought out. The TV didn't work, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the desk chair was broken, and breakfast was the worst I've had. I've traveled more than 70 nights this year and disliked no hotel more. A real disappointment. I'll be back in Sandusky often, but won't stay here again.

I expected much better cleanliness and comfort for the price, but I won't stay at this hotel again or recommend it. The bathroom was disgusting, with visible grime and bad odors, and the bed sheets had stains. The room and common areas were dirty, and the whole property felt old, dated, and poorly maintained. The stay was unpleasant from beginning to end.

As someone who travels weekly for work and is a Hilton stan, I was really disappointed by this Hampton Inn. The property is badly outdated and had a noticeable musty smell throughout. In the room, the chairs and worn carpet were stained, the AC didn't work properly, and the humidity made it uncomfortable. I expected better upkeep, cleanliness, and comfort from a Hilton-branded hotel, especially as a frequent guest. It needs significant updates before I'd consider returning. Sandusky doesn't have any great Hilton options, so it's sad to say Marriott will get my business during the next few months of work here.

The staff were friendly, and our room was clean without any funky smell. It's a little dated, but clean and conveniently located if you're traveling on I-70. The pool is well kept and the fitness center is decent. Breakfast is free with some good options and two waffle stations, though the eggs were rubbery and bland. I know they're not "real" eggs. I checked the sheets with a black light, and they were free of bed bugs and other organic material.
