Shearwater Inn

The view was great, and the staff were friendly. The room was nice but dirty, with some kind of dried liquid on the headboard. The balcony screen door almost came off its track when I barely touched it. Parking was a nightmare: the spaces were small and not very ADA-friendly. I booked two nights but only stayed one, and we won’t be back anytime soon. It was helpful that the place accepts dogs.

The views were gorgeous. Every day we watched both sunrise and sunset right from our spacious, very clean room at Shearwater Inn. It was such a special thing to experience. The room felt cozy and like home, with everything we needed. The fireplace warmed it quickly in the cold weather, and the large bed was comfortable. We also appreciated the robes and hairdryer. The staff were friendly and welcoming, greeting us when we left and came back and checking if we needed anything. It was nice to help ourselves to coffee or tea in the lobby anytime. For the room’s size and cleanliness, comfortable bed, and incredible view, the price was a steal. We’d absolutely stay again and recommend it.

Every room at this small Oregon Coast chain looks over the ocean, with a great sunset view. They also all have fireplaces and balconies, which was the main reason I wanted to stay. The place went above and beyond what I expected, with a mix of Oklahoma culture and Pacific Northwest surroundings. Staff were helpful, and the restaurant collection as Kylo was unfortunately closed during our visit. Check that it’s open first, since it’s a must-try seafood restaurant on the West Coast. Sign up with your email for future offers. Sometimes the rates are as good as the property east of this one. Breakfast is continental rather than the traditional bacon, egg, hash brown, biscuit, and gravy you might expect in Oklahoma or Texas. Still, it gives you a good protein boost before you sit out back and enjoy the rest of the Oregon tour.

The staff were so pleasant, and the service was excellent. We brought our 2-year-old Boston Terrier on his first road trip, and staying at the Shearwater made everything convenient. We had a spell of very rainy, windy weather but still enjoyed the visit. I only took off a star for service because breakfast doesn’t start until 8:00 am, which was too late for those of us who needed to be somewhere by then.
