Rodeway Inn Sandusky North

I've stayed in hotels, motels, and Holiday Inns from coast to coast and border to border, and this place is the best value I've come across in all my travels. Book a room with, or ask for one cleaned by Cheyenne or Miami. You can't go wrong. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back!"

After a 10-hour trip, I was sickened by the state of the rooms. The pictures don't reflect how this place looks. The room smelled like dirty construction workers, and there was a bug on the bed. If you want bugs crawling on you while you sleep, book here. I asked right away to cancel and get my money back, but the $550 is gone and they won't refund it. The manager was away for two weeks when I tried to discuss the request, and then said he would not refund me. He's rude, has no empathy, and is difficult to talk to. This place is disgusting and a joke. I strongly suggest not staying here.

I've always had good service whenever I've stayed here. The rooms are clean, and the non-smoking rooms don't smell of smoke. I sleep really well in the super-comfy beds, and the spacious showers even have a seat. It's peaceful and feels safe, and the windows let in lots of light.

We booked at the last minute for a baseball tournament, and the room was clean, but there were a lot of problems. The deadbolt didn't work, and when we woke up the door was open, held only by a flimsy chain with one screw and another hanging loose. The shower took force to turn on, the toilet ran all night, and there weren't many outlets. The room was dim and had no mini fridge. The AC was near the ceiling and I couldn't reach the controls at 5'5". I skipped the pool because reaching it meant crossing the parking lot where other guests were lingering. The checkout woman was pleasant, but didn't want to hear about the door safety issue, just said, "So sorry!"
