Red Roof Inn Sanford

I stay here several times a month, and the rooms have been updated with kitchenettes. There's a sink, induction cooktop (utensils cost extra), and apartment-size fridge with a separate freezer. It fits several 4 lb Yeti blue ice blocks, so I don't need ice for my cooler. There's also a decent desk and office chair, plus a separate dining table. Water pressure is good and cleaning service is decent. The clientele has improved too.

Getting into the room didn't make things better. It smelled like cigarettes, there was no blanket, just a paper-thin sheet, and the bed squeaked all night with even the slightest movement. The shower was disgusting. The front desk woman was rude and disrespectful for no reason, full of attitude and no help at all. This place doesn't feel welcoming, and they clearly don't take responsibility or care about making customers feel welcome. I'll never come back.

The floors were filthy, and the sheets had dirt and hair left by the previous guests, so they clearly hadn't been changed. Heat doesn't work in some rooms either. The front desk wasn't helpful and just acted like they knew nothing. Not worth staying even one night.

I killed three cockroaches during a horrible stay, and the plumbing was backed up so nothing drained right. I was standing in four inches of water in the shower. Why have a kitchenette if there are no pots, pans, or silverware? I'd never stay here again.
