Harbor House Inn

Harbor House ended up being a great choice, even though we only booked it the day before after the other place we wanted was sold out. We really wished we could have stayed longer than one night. The room was cute and cozy, with a kitchen, bedroom, and separate sitting area, more like an Airbnb than a hotel room. No breakfast, but the lobby has free snacks like fruit, granola bars, and biscotti. Bikes, boogie boards, helmets, beach chairs, and games are available to rent for a fee, though I’m not sure whether the bikes cost extra. The staff were super friendly, and it’s an easy walk to the beach, wharf, shops, restaurants, and grocery store. The area felt quiet and safe. This would be our first hotel choice in SB.

We're here for a week and after just one day, we're already loving it. The suite is spacious and beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed, clean rooms, and great amenities. The beach, walking and biking paths, restaurants, and souvenir shops are all close by.

We liked Harbor House Inn so much on our first visit that we came back two weeks later. My husband and I wanted a quick getaway from LA, and found it on Yelp, where it had better reviews than some other properties. We stayed in room 7, a queen suite, the first time. That bed was among the most comfortable we've slept in at a hotel. It had a full stove, kitchen utensils, coffee maker, and ground coffee, with pretty much everything needed if you want to cook. On our second trip we had room 118A on the king suite side. It was spacious, like a studio apartment, and had what we needed, though the street-facing front door made it a little noisier than the other side. Queen suite parking is limited, but they provide a permit for Bath St. The king suites include one space per room. The property was one of the cleanest I've stayed in, cozy, warm, and charming. The location is convenient, within easy walking distance of lots of restaurants. Every staff member was friendly, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. They also offer free snacks in the office. We've already booked another trip for our anniversary and 4th of July in Santa Barbara. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

The studio suite suited us perfectly, and you can tell the amenities were thought through. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location made it easy to walk everywhere. They also provide complimentary beach bikes and towels, plus snacks in the lobby. Everyone was friendly. My only real gripe was that the pillows weren't as comfortable as I wanted. We'd definitely come back.
