After the room I booked turned out to be a queen instead of a king, I canceled my second night and moved to a nicer Marriott. The desk said they assign rooms as guests arrive and couldn’t give me the king I’d reserved. I’d also asked at check-in whether two separate reservations could be combined, but was told I’d have to check out and check back in the next morning. My platinum elite status wasn’t acknowledged, and the person at the desk seemed eager to be elsewhere, even though it was only 8 p.m. I was there for one business night. The place was fairly clean and cheap, but the rooms felt dark and service was nonexistent. I wouldn’t return.

Omar was especially helpful when I had a problem with my charges and other issues during my stay. He took the time to explain things and get them sorted out. The staff are really nice, and I’d definitely come back.

The room was clean and really nice, but noise carried through the walls. I could hear people in the room next door and guests upstairs.

I felt sick after having to take freezing showers at night and again the next morning because there was no hot water. I stayed just one night, and the front desk should have told us about the outage instead of leaving us confused. I’ve stayed at plenty of IHG hotels, and this was my worst experience so far.

We came to California for a memorial service and stayed at the Santa Clara Holiday Inn. We’ve been back many times over the years because we love it there. The rooms are great, the bathrooms are clean, and everything works. 😅
