Embassy Suites by Hilton Valencia

We came back after a decent stay here a few years ago, but this visit, from Friday night to Sunday morning, was a disaster. Within the first 2-3 minutes in our second-floor room, we spotted a cockroach. We caught it in one of the glasses so it couldn’t escape and reported it, along with other room problems. The maintenance worker came up and removed it, but never got back to us after we asked to change rooms. The counters had water damage, and the room smelled musty. On day two, the “Manager” was very unhelpful. He kept saying this had never happened and that we didn’t know what a cockroach looked like. On Sunday morning we contacted Hilton headquarters, and our complaint is under review, with no resolution yet. I’ll keep updating this for you, the consumer. Apparently this post doesn’t allow pictures, so I’ll find another site to share them. The breakfast was good and parking was easy. The cockroach, damaged counters, musty smell, and the manager’s poor handling of it were the downsides. Thank you

I’m used to 4-star hotels, and I booked this one with some reservations. It turned out to exceed what I expected from a 3-star place. The hotel and common areas are in good shape, not old or worn, and my room felt as clean as a 4-star room. Our two-room suite with two double beds was spacious, almost like a one-bedroom apartment, with a standard kitchenette and sink. The bathroom was roomy, with nice wall finishes, strong water pressure, and hot water. Floor-to-ceiling windows brought in natural light and fresh air, and you could crack them open. Our suite looked out over the courtyard pool. I think the rooms on the other side face the parking lot. The area was quiet, and there was plenty of parking in the open, ungated lot. Breakfast was included. The beds and bedding felt basic rather than luxurious, though the sheets felt clean and I had no second thoughts about them. The couches were basic and functional. We didn’t try the sofa bed, so I can’t comment on it. I’m glad we stayed. We were just passing through and needed a clean, reliable place to rest.

We keep choosing Embassy Suites Valencia because it’s an easy stop for a night or a couple of days when we need quick access to LA. It’s just off the freeway, which helps avoid the worst of the traffic, and the rates are reasonable. Parking is easy, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are spacious, with separate living and sleeping areas and a choice of one or two beds. The pool and jacuzzi are nice, too. Breakfast is complimentary, with fresh made-to-order omelets and continental choices, so you can put together the meal you want. They also have free drinks and snacks midday. The property is a little outdated, but it works well for an overnight stay. Highly recommend it.

Our roomy, clean suite gave the kids space to unwind after a long day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and check-in was smooth. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We also liked the evening reception, and the complimentary breakfast had plenty of good choices, which made it easy to get going in the morning. Some parts of the hotel felt dated, and we heard noise from nearby rooms and hallways at times. Still, it was a comfortable, family-friendly stay with good service and made our Six Flags weekend more convenient. We’d stay again.
