Fairfield Inn by Marriott Salt Lake City Layton

We booked for our twins' birthday and told the man who took the reservation we'd be late. We asked for one king room connected to a Queen room, and I called three times to check that the rooms were connected and the pool and hot tubs worked. I called again 20 minutes before we arrived. Still, we had no room and no connecting rooms. They offered to let us use one room and the pool while they hurried to clean the other, so we agreed. We swam for about an hour and sat in the hot tub maybe 30-45 minutes. After everyone changed, I drove back to Roy, let my dogs out, and returned. There was no TV. We'd planned to play video games and watch movies with the twins and their friends for the rest of the birthday. The staff member I'd spoken to on the phone hung up on me and said she couldn't do anything and didn't care. We'd been there around three and a half or four hours, so we packed up and left. My husband was treated rudely in person too. None of this was our mistake. Why give out a room that isn't ready or cleaned, especially when I'd called four times to check? There were two TVs and neither worked. I can't believe how rude that woman was. I wouldn't recommend this place.

After a long day of driving, the indoor pool and hot tub were such a treat. The room was great, and staff were friendly and happy to answer my questions. I could bring my dogs, and the hotel was much more accommodating about that than places that make it difficult.

The staff's kindness and professionalism are what made this place stand out. After two days of driving across the country on our way to Washington with three cats and a dog, it was a relief to find clean, spacious pet friendly rooms just off the freeway. My dog was scared and tired and had an accident in the room. The staff were understanding and accommodating, which made a tough moment easier to handle. I'd left a very costly medication behind while hurrying back on the road. Before I even noticed it was missing, staff called to say they'd found it. The front desk were incredibly kind and helpful every time I called while sorting out how to get it shipped to me at my new location. I can't say how much of a relief that was. I'd stay here again and again for the customer service alone. Thanks, Fairfield staff. We'll be back!

Abby at the front desk made everything easy from beginning to end. She was welcoming, professional, and very helpful, while staying efficient and attentive. Her upbeat energy and pleasant aura made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. It's rare to meet someone who brings such good vibes and still gets everything done so well.
