We chose this hotel for our son’s birthday weekend because he wanted an indoor pool, and it was near the boardwalk. At $200 a night, though, I left wishing I could get some of the money back. The room was noisy, with a loud buzzing sound every few minutes from somewhere below us. Maybe it was the elevator equipment, washers, or AC, I really don’t know, but it kept disturbing our sleep. The pool was warm on our first day, then colder the next night. We could feel colder water coming from the jets, so it seemed like the heater was off. The toilet was a problem from the moment we arrived. Maintenance came up several times but didn’t fix the autofill, which took about 40 minutes to refill before it could be flushed. We had to pour water in to flush it ourselves. We were already unpacked, but I should’ve asked to change rooms instead of putting up with repeated maintenance visits. Breakfast was okay, but there weren’t many choices, and I’ve had better at other Hamptons. Overall, the stay was pretty disappointing.

Reese made check-in the best part of our long weekend with my family. After a draining week, I was frazzled, and she patiently went over everything, from breakfast to pool hours. She got me laughing and helped me switch out of work mode and into vacation mode. She was also very professional while training a new employee, and seemed to make him feel comfortable and excited about the job. The rooms and location were great too, but Reese deserves the five stars.

Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, and the boardwalk and ocean were a convenient distance away. Our check-in person was really great, too. The place got busy, so I’d book a room early, and get breakfast early as well. We had a great stay.

The room was clean and spacious, and the bathtub was great, with plenty of hot water. We also appreciated the friendly staff and good breakfast, and we’ll be back. I’d been a little concerned about parking, but it worked out fine. We could see our car from room 317. Getting to the hotel was easy since it’s right off the highway, and it’s just over a mile from the beach.

The room itself was good, but check-in was a mess. As an Honors member, I normally check in through the app and use an electronic key. They wouldn’t allow that because the owner doesn’t accept the credit cards Hilton has on file. I waited about 15 minutes for the front desk employee to show up, check my ID, and swipe my card before I could finally get checked in. I’d give it one star if the room hadn’t been good.
