DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Santa Fe

Oscar at the front desk was kind and helpful, and all the staff were polite and respectful. Allergy-free cookies are available if you ask. The hotel is close to many places. Our bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and we had a balcony. The complimentary breakfast was a typical hotel meal, including egg and potato burritos. The fitness center has treadmills, free weights, an elliptical, and a Peloton bike, though the bike wasn't working. It's not a top-tier hotel, but it's still a good place to stay.

For my birthday, the staff surprised me with a delightful brownie topped with ice cream and two candles. They were all very kind and helpful, and I enjoyed my stay. The room was beautiful, with four great pillows on each bed and a private lanai with chairs for evening stargazing. The turquoise and earthy upholstery colors, wall art, and carpeting gave the place a peaceful feel. The comfy lobby furniture and stone fireplace, with its mesmerizing flames, were lovely too. There is traffic outside, but the fan setting on the heating and cooling unit made nice white noise to drown it out.

They're in the middle of renovations, so some rooms and main areas are finished and others aren't. I believe it'll be a fantastic place to stay once all the work is done. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is great for things in and around Santa Fe. I work in Los Alamos, so the drive was a bit long for me, but that wasn't a big deal.

Every room has balcony access, which was a nice extra, and the view was great even though it was limited. The soaps are Crabtree and Evelyn, definitely the best hotel soaps I've used. The hot tub was closed during my stay, and the pool was only partly heated, even with it 45 degrees outside. Check-in was smooth and easy. Remember to opt in for the paid breakfast when booking. The pictured room is the 1 King bed JR suite with a sofabed couch. It has plenty of room, but for just one or two people, that suite is probably overkill and not really necessary. Still, it was a great stay, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Fe who wants a clean, comfortable place.
