Eldorado Hotel & Spa

I celebrated my best friend's birthday at the property last year, and Gina Morales, Front Desk Manager, made the occasion especially memorable. I’d shipped decorations to the hotel ahead of time, and she helped arrange them in our room. Her care and willingness to help showed a real commitment to hospitality and guest service. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, and every staff member we met was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to welcome us. It’s centrally located, within walking distance of the square, and worked perfectly as a starting point for our weekend plans. I’d highly recommend El Dorado Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Santa Fe, and I look forward to coming back.

During our road trip from Michigan to Las Vegas, Eldorado Hotel & Spa turned out to be one of the most memorable stops. After long days of driving, its peaceful, romantic atmosphere felt like a real escape. The hotel was very clean and beautifully maintained, and the room and overall feel were comfortable and relaxing. It was more than just a place to sleep, and we still talk about how special the stay was. If you’re passing through Santa Fe or want a romantic, high-quality visit, it’s worth it.

I’m here on vacation with a friend who’s in town for business, and given the nightly price, I’m disappointed. It looks nice at first, but feels like a hotel that may have been luxurious 30 years ago and hasn’t had the updates it needs. The location is one of the best parts. Restaurants and shops are close by, and we visited the plaza and enjoyed our time there. Breakfast at the on-site Agave Restaurant was very good. The hotel also responded quickly when we texted for two spoons and reported a broken toilet handle and a shower door that wouldn’t stay shut. Maintenance arrived in about 30 minutes. The room was the biggest letdown. It had a balcony and fireplace, though I didn’t use the fireplace and the balcony was fine. The doors slam loudly, and the TV is oddly placed, neither centered in the room nor facing the bed. One side of the bed has USB ports and plugs, but the other has nothing, not even an obvious outlet. The mini fridge freezer was too small for our quart of ice cream, which melted everywhere. I was surprised there was no microwave. The shower was adequate but had too few shelves, and its showerhead should be detachable. The towel hooks are inside the shower, where towels can get soaked or fall in, as mine did a couple of times. When we arrived, there were only a couple of tissues, and we had to ask for more. The washcloths weren’t replaced either, so we had to request more of those. The room staff didn’t vacuum. I also didn’t like that valet parking was mandatory. I’m fine with valet as an option, but often our car was only 30-40 feet away. Getting it back took longer than just walking to it, and we had to tip extra every day.

Last August I stayed for 9 days and had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable, everything was clean and nicely maintained, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I’m looking forward to my next trip. I’ll be back for 3 days next week and hope for another great stay at the eldorado hotel in Santa Fe new mexico.
