The location made it easy to walk to the Plaza area, and there’s a small grocery store just around the corner as well as food trucks. The shops are plentiful, and the Native American artists in front of the Palace of the Governors are worth checking out. Parking is limited. If you’re out near Chimayo, we also enjoyed Rancho de Chimayo after visiting Bandelier Natl Monument. The food was great, and the same family has run it for 60 years. Four Kachinas is a lovely B&B on a side street opposite the State House. There are two rooms in the main building and four ground-level rooms entered from a tucked-away courtyard, each with its own private patio. Breakfast is served in a room off that courtyard, with fruit and a hot entree. The staff are pleasant and eager to help. Guests can share a small fridge and freezer.

We liked the room so much that we booked it again for two nights before heading back to Phoenix. The self check-in was simple, Room #2 was beautifully furnished, and our private patio felt tucked away and inviting. The southwest art and artifacts seemed carefully chosen and authentic, and the flowers and landscaping looked gorgeous. Breakfasts were filling and delicious, with home cooking, cookies, and sweet breads. The woman who cooked and looked after the dining room was especially pleasant. We’d come to Santa Fe for one night on our October drive from Phoenix to Colorado Springs for a wedding. After seeing the poor reviews for local hotels, we chose a B&B. Four Kachinas stood out for its photos and reviews, off-street parking, safe location, and walk to the Plaza. We were very happy with our stay and highly recommend it.

We had a romantic night in downtown Santa Fe and really enjoyed this B&B. The host was so friendly, and even mailed back something I’d left behind, which was beyond what I expected. There are lots of good restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Santa Fe!

It felt like a comfortable home instead of a hotel, and I slept so well. Our room was lovely and quiet, with great temperature control. Even the small details, like the bathroom fixtures, were good. We really enjoyed staying at Four Kachinas and will be back ❤️

Blanca, Walt, and Wayne made our three-night stay special. I emailed one evening with a request and got a quick, caring, professional response. Blanca’s breakfasts were a feast each morning: fresh sweet bread, yogurt, granola, juice, fruit, and a different hot dish every day. The eggs Benedict were my favorite, perfectly done. Our two-queen room was clean and beautifully decorated, with a little patio, and they provided wine glasses and openers. The showers were hot, too. My mom and I just got back from Santa Fe, and we had such a lovely time at Four Kachinas Inn. It’s quaint, pretty, and centrally placed, so you can walk to everything. I’ll tell my friends about it and stay here again on another trip.
