Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi

The meals were all very good, and the new chef deserves credit. But we spent from 6 to 9:30 in the restaurant’s wine cellar for a special birthday dinner, largely because everything took so long. I’d been told by the previous manager, who has since left, that someone would be assigned to our table. We barely saw anyone, though, and often had to pour our own water. Staff were pleasant except for our waiter, who seemed rushed and annoyed and kept asking, “Is this the best I can do?” He reordered cocktails for everyone whether we wanted them or not. I would have liked wine with my meal, but nobody asked after my plate arrived, and the staff disappeared. No one checked whether we enjoyed the food, which struck me as odd. We felt completely neglected, and we won’t return until service gets much better.

The bed was really comfortable, and the standard room was nicely furnished, with an impressive bar. It is a little small, though. During my three days there, I kept hearing neighboring room doors bang during the day, and motorcycles at night could still be heard through the double glazing. It’s a good downtown Santa Fe option if the price fits your budget.

The rooms were great, and the staff were incredible. Diago was outstanding throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the tequila tasting, which is a must while you’re at the hotel.
